Dark ruby with a rusty core. Composty. Dry aged meat tang. Green peppercorns. Vegetal. Rhoney. Garique salad. Dark fruit leather, Cowhide with black berries. Rosemary tea.
100% Grenache from the limestone and clay hills of La Livinière. Hand harvested into small cases. Long slow extraction. Then divided into a combo of used demi-muids and stainless steel for 12 months elevage.
The label is a collaboration between winemaker Benjamin Darnault, and Trevor Gulliver, and Fergus Henderson, owner and chef at St John in London. They make a few single varietal wines. Carignan, Cinsault, Cab Franc, and Grenache Gris.
