Light Foggy pickle red. Nose of Dill, snow falls on cedars. Cherries as it opens. Mouth like oysters. Thick milky ones. O'Keefe plump. Pickles become spicy, jalapeno. Pine. Oysters get milkier. Sour Kefir. Kombucha. Miles of travel over the past 30 minutes. Tension. Uncertainty resolved.
An hour later it's black cherries mushroom forest floor. Fat Grenache.
90 Grenache 10 Carignan, schisty soils, blended from three parcels and elevations. Bruno DuchĂȘne has three cuvees that each highlight different growing practices, This one lets the grass grow, literally. untouched.
Whole cluster fermentation, no remontage, a few pigeages then aged 2/3 in vat, 1/3 in barrel. No mention to how long, but assumed a winter's worth.
